| Barbara Shinn and David Page are dear friends for many years. They owned an acclaimed restaurant in New York called Home. Now they live on Long Island, where they make extraordinary wine. You may have read that Long Island is the most extraordinary wine region on the East Coast. It is. You may have read that it is more and more exciting every vintage. It is. But you may not have noticed that one of the best wineries on Long Island is Shinn Vineyards. The New York Times wine column has cited Shinn at the top of the New York State wine game on more than one occasion.We find it closer to a European style of winemaking than a California style; but it’s a style unto itself.
