Marlene Holmes, Master Distiller of Milam & Greene Whiskey Distillery in Blanco, Texas, has made history as the first American woman distiller inducted into Whisky Magazine’s prestigious International Hall of Fame—one of the highest honors in the spirits industry.

With a career spanning over three decades, Marlene first honed her craft at Jim Beam in Kentucky under the legendary Booker Noe, becoming the first woman hired to work inside the distillery and overseeing production of more than 1,400 barrels a day. In 2018, she brought her expertise to Milam & Greene, guiding the brand to national recognition and critical acclaim. Today, she stands as the most experienced distiller in Texas—and among the most accomplished anywhere in the world.

Her Hall of Fame induction cements her legacy alongside whiskey icons like Elmer T. Lee, Jimmy Russell, and Parker Beam—an elite group of pioneers who have shaped the modern whiskey landscape.

Marlene Holmes will be here on September 15. We’ll have a Meet-and-Greet with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 6 to 6:30.  Then Marlene will lead us through a sit-down, side-by-side tasting of 6 award-winning Milam and Green Texas Whiskies!
